Technical Writer

HORIBA Instruments Incorporated, a leading manufacturer of scientific instruments, has an immediate opening for a Technical Writer in Piscataway, New Jersey. 
 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree, scientific background a plus
  • Proven working experience in technical editing/writing skills in a wide variety of areas, specifically in writing materials such as Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, User Guides, Software Release notes and documentation, and other system documentation as required.
  • Ability to multi-task with attention to detail and commitment to persistent follow-up
  • Expert proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.  
  • Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures.
  • Ability to write in explanatory and procedural styles for multiple audiences.
  • Excellent written skills in English.

 

Duties:

  • Plan, develop, organize, write and edit a wide assortment of technical documents which includes developing, rewriting, and producing hardware/software systems documentation (including Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, User Guides, Software Release Notes/Documentation, tutorials, etc.). 
  • Software and application testing to analyze hardware/software system functionality for all HORIBA software applications, documenting findings in HORIBA issue tracking software. 
  • Write documentation for hardware/software systems applying word processing and graphics; and assist programmers and engineers in developing documentation.
  • Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience.
  • Maintain a comprehensive library of technical terminology and documentation.
  • Manage updates and revisions to technical literature.
