Today HORIBA, a leading supplier and innovation driver of vehicle test systems, announced a strategic cooperation with 3D Mapping Solutions GmbH based in Holzkirchen. The cooperation with the company for kinematic surveying, which specializes in the high-resolution data collection of roads, for example for Ultra HD Maps, will initially focus on joint activities in the development of modern products and applications, especially regarding the transfer from the real world to virtual reality. In a second step, the joint development of additional services concerning scenario-based testing and ViL testing is planned.
Thanks to their core competencies in the automotive sector, HORIBA and 3D Mapping Solutions complement each other perfectly and can thus further develop their different fields of activity into future-oriented products and applications. In addition to kinematic surveying and its many years of expertise in this field, the strength of the new cooperation partner lies above all in data analysis and processing. The joint products and applications will enable both parties to design the simulations necessary for the testing of assisted driving systems and autonomous vehicles. In this regard, HORIBA can rely on its decades of expertise in automotive testing.
André Engelbert, Global Application Manager CAV at HORIBA Europe, is looking forward to the future-oriented strategic cooperation with 3D Mapping Solutions: "With a competent partner like 3D Mapping Solutions at our side, we are excellently positioned for scenario-based testing and method development.
